GOLD AWARD MAKES CLEANKILL PEST CONTROL AN INDUSTRY WORLD LEADER

Gold Standard for Cleankill Pest Control
Paul Bates with Cleankill van

Surrey based Cleankill has become one of the first pest control companies in the world to be awarded the Investors in People Gold Standard, demonstrating the company’s commitment to high performance through good people management.

Cleankill Pest Control has offices in Kenley, South Croydon, Seaford, East Sussex, Bucks and Bristol and employs 40 staff. The company started trading from a bedroom office in 1995 and now has a turnover of over £2 million, offering professional pest control services throughout London, Surrey, Kent and Sussex.

Cleankill’s Managing Director Paul Bates said: “As an award-winning pest management company, Cleankill is extremely proud of its Investors in People accreditation which it has held since 2005. After our 2014 assessment we were awarded Investors in People Silver status – the first pest control company in the UK to achieve this level. We have been working very hard since then to make improvements and take recommendations on board and this has paid dividends.”

Investors in People Assessor Anne Hyde added: “The Investors in People Gold Award is testament to Cleankill’s commitment to engaging, empowering, developing and rewarding the whole workforce.”

The Investors in People assessment report cited the company’s ethos called ‘The Cleankill Way’ as one of the reasons for the company’s success. The Cleankill Way underpins everything that happens across the organisation and states that:

• Our staff are the most highly trained in the industry

• Our staff enjoy working for Cleankill, including through appropriate recognition and reward

• Our customers and their needs are at the heart of our business strategy

• We invest, at all levels of the company, into our communities as a responsible business, both in terms of our time and charitable giving, and in our ethical and green credentials, ensuring that as a pest control company our minimal use of pesticides and our investment in newer techniques means that our effect on the environment is minimised.

Cleankill has won a number of awards in recent years including: Best Business for Staff Training and Development at the 2016 Croydon Business Excellence Awards and Green Business of the Year at the 2017 Gatwick Diamond Awards. The company was shortlisted for the international Investors in People Excellence in Social Responsibility Award in 2016.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Cleankill Pest Control. Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. The Cleankill team should be extremely proud of its achievement.”
